My First Critique
The best thing about having my quilt in the North Carolina show was that my work was critiqued by the judges. I wasn't surprised by anything they said, especially the categories where I scored pretty low. (I didn't know they cared about how neat the BACK of the quilt was! Lesson learned.) Seeing the other pieces in the show, I can see where the judges were coming from and now I have a good idea of where I need to improve!
Only one category on my sheet was marked with the highest possible score: my corners. What a surprising compliment! Keeping my quilts squared up and bound neatly is my least favorite thing, so it felt very good to have my hard work recognized.
