21-Item Capsule Wardrobe

Here's my entire wardrobe for the next 3 months, 4 states, and temperatures ranging from 30 to 100 degrees. I'll be relying a lot on my versalette...

Not pictured: socks and underwear, swimsuit. The wardrobe above does cover pajamas, though. Those blue leggings... aren't really pants even if I wear them like they're pants. Because I totally do wear them like pants.

Law Cat Sketch

Thinking about a quilt for a law student who also likes cats. Ooh, what if the cat was a law student?

Fashion Plate

A non-historical dress I saw in a dream. It was part of a set of prints. This was the only one I remembered clearly enough to draw.

What struck me most was the fold over boot tops and the padded, twisted trim.

Three Bad Elevators Art Quilt

This is a triptych I made a while ago exploring three dreams featuring unusual, uncomfortable, or dangerous elevators.

Three Bad Elevators

16.5" x 40" Machine appliqued cotton, cotton batting, yarn.

The outer quilts depict free-swinging elevator capsules. On the left, a wrecking-ball style sphere takes passengers up through the open atrium of a large office building. On the right, a long cable brings a tiny swinging elevator across several city blocks before reaching the top of the Willis (nee Sears) Tower in Chicago. The middle elevator wouldn't open at the fifth floor. I really wanted to get to the fifth floor for reasons I no longer remember.

Bouquet Art Quilt

For my grandma. The flowers are the same ones that grow in her garden this time of the year: daffodils, zinnias, and hollyhocks.

15"x 19". Machine appliqu├ęd cotton, cotton batting.

Yarn Things For Feet

Two projects in progress: crochet slippers and cotton socks. Neither have been getting much attention lately.

I am confident that they will both be finished... eventually.

Mom's Wool-Free Hat

Mom wants a purple and black hat but can't wear wool. I'm using Cotton-Bamboo-Silk yarn (called, CoBaSi, of course) in Selbu Modern, a popular Fair Isle pattern on Ravelry.

CoBaSi Yarn

Getting the tension right for Fair Isle, it turns out, is much easier when there are wooly fibers to stick to each other, but I'm forging ahead. It gets easier with practice.

Fair Isle Hat In Progress

It's slow going and there's a lot of untwisting and repositioning yarn, but I'm happy so far. Here's my project on Ravelry.

Regency Gown Sketch

Working with a friend on her Regency gown. Here are some of the preliminary sketches. The first step of course is to make a serviceable pair of stays.

Regency Gown Sketches

I'm really excited to try the Sense and Sensibility pattern for short stays. I downloaded it as a .pdf!!

You're Nothing But The Truth Art Quilt

The dragon quilt is finished! I'm pleased with how it turned out. There's more shimmer to it in person, and it makes the dragon pop.

You're Nothing But The Truth

28.5" x 33" Machine-appliqued and machine-pieced cotton, plastic film, cotton batting.
