Sunshine Quilt

"Sunshine" 14 x 14. machine appliquéd cotton.

"Sunshine" Machine appliqued cotton. 14" x 14" 2012.

Had time last weekend to make a little quilt, so I did. I've missed it very much. Here's an orange cat without a care in the world!

My First Craft Show

I spent last weekend at my first craft show. It was quite the learning experience and I have a big page of notes for the next one in April!

My first craft show!

Not only that, I sold five quilts and am talking with a few people about custom work. I'd never sold anything before, and it felt very, very good! I'm inspired and enthused and ready to get to work! Not that I'm going to quit my day job to do it-- next week, I'm making stays.

Sky Scarf Update

It's getting longer every day. You can see the rain we got from Sandy up near the top.

Because I'm weaving in the ends so as not to carry all 12 strands up the side, that edge is a little wider than the other, but I'm expecting that to even out when I block it. I'm also expecting nobody bit me to notice if it doesn't.

Cotton Socks

Nothing fancy, just a pair of tan cotton socks for Fix.

Toe up sport weight cotton socks.

Knit toe up and two-at-a-time from sport weight yarn, they didn't take long at all!

I've Been Working

Here's what I've been doing all day instead of making art quilts: repairing, altering, and constructing 18th c. clothing.

1770s coat I made at (and for) work.

Disclaimer: the pattern's not mine, the coat's not mine... I just put it together.. (This is before I put the buttons on the cuffs and under the pocket flaps.)

Back of coat I made at work.

Here's the back. Those back vents were a unique challenge, but next time will be easier. I will also get the lining into the sleeves correctly (see how the right sleeve is hanging funny?) the first try next time.
