Underwater Heart

Underwater Heart

Machine applique cotton quilt, 16" x 21", 2012. It's not quite what I expected (and the photo doesn't do it justice) but it's close. I like most of it.

Heart detail. The applique was done on a machine with a zig zag stitch in four colors of thread to create an effect of light and shadow. At least that was the idea... I'm not sure how well it went over.

Bad Dream Quilt

The upside was that in the morning my cat still loves me. He has no idea.

Hopalong Buckaroo

The picture may be blurry, but the expression is priceless. Buckaroo is giving his ankle a rest a day after falling from the second floor on Friday morning. The vet has checked him out and he's already limping--and wallowing-- less.

Sampler Quilt

Listen to Your Heart

A little quilt for testing out what I can do with my new machine. I see a lot of potential for improvement!

"Listen to Your Heart" detail

Especially my free-motion handwriting. There's a whole lot of improvement to be done there.

Sewing Machine

Goodbye Tank

Dear Tank,

It's not you, it's me. We've had some good times, but my horizons are expanding and I need more. I need things you just can't do for me. Mom took good care of you for 30 years, and the way you're running, she'll take good care of you for another 30. I'll never forget our work together and you'll always have a very special place in...

Hello New Unnamed Machine

Hello beautiful, is that a free motion embroidery foot?

New Year's Resolution

My 2012 resolution is "be a badass" but the Adele lyric "throw your soul through every open door" worked a lot better for a quilt with a door on it.

My 2012 Resolution

The Tank is acting up so I did almost all of the sewing by hand-- even the binding. Yuckers.

Blue and Grey Convertible Mittens

I made these convertible mittens way back in 2009 and have been using them ever since. I liked this pattern a lot and the mittens have lasted!
